SPIC MACAY, the non-profit organization that promotes Indian classical music and dance amongst youth of the country, held a Kathak dance program by Mrs. Monisha Nayak at the Dharmapuri school.
Besides enjoying the dance performance, students also learnt some dance steps from the artiste.
Science Fair At Tuticorin School
The organization Agni’s Ignite conducted a district level science expo on 3rd February at the Isha Vidhya Tuticorin School.

A number of schools from Tuticorin district exhibited student projects which were evaluated by our judges. Our school principal gave away prizes to the winners who will now participate at the state level science expo.
Garbology
The Tuticorin school principal conducted a session called “Garbology” - an activity of segregating garbage for VI Std. students. The students brought waste like plastic bottles, wire, metal can, clothes, shoes, milk bags etc. from home and learnt to segregate it into organic, metallic, glass, paper and miscellaneous waste through a game called ‘Waste Relay Race’. At the sound of a whistle, students raced to deposit the waste in the proper bin thereby reinforcing their understanding of the need to sort waste.
Go Green at Erode
As part of the “Go Green” activity at the Erode school, students of Std. IV planted vegetable seeds like okra and tomatoes, among others.
Students learnt the need to maintain a healthy green cover. The teachers explained how lack of tree cover leads to an increase in pollution, which adversely affects human beings.
Annual Day at Coimbatore School
Mr. Kamalesh Kumar, Deputy Commander of Coimbatore, line of control (BSF) was the Chief Guest at the 12th Annual Day celebrations at the Coimbatore School. In his keynote address, he shared about his childhood experiences and gave few career guidance tips too.

The cultural program afterwards was comprised of a Bharatanatyam performance by the Std. X girls, a Tamil Nadu folk dance, a Garba dance and plays with the theme of Rally for Rivers and Road Safety.
Two dramas were also performed, which were much appreciated by the audience. One was about Thenali Raman in English and the other was a farmer's story in Tamil to stress the importance of agriculture.
Finally, the teachers were presented with a memento as a token of appreciation for their efforts in putting together such an entertaining event.
